The Reading defender has set his sights on bouncing back from a last-minute defeat against Aston Villa as his side face Rotherham United this weekend.

Reading right-back, and stand-in captain for tomorrow, Chris Gunter has attempted to rally his side ahead of their trip to bottom side Rotherham United, speaking to the club website.
The 27-year-old is hopeful of a result following the Royals’ midweek disappointment against Aston Villa.

Reading lost 2-1 to Steve Bruce’s side on Tuesday night but it was the manner of the loss, a last-minute penalty from Jordan Ayew, which will irk Jaap Stam’s men the most.
To add insult to injury, the result also spoiled their unbeaten record at the Madejski this season.
However, Gunter remains optimisticthat his team can bounce back despite the threat of complacency against the 24th-placed team in the Championship.

He told the club’s website: “We’ll go there and respect them – we’re in no position where we can think that because they are on a poor run of results that we have got any given right to win the game,”
“But we’ll completely focus on ourselves and if we can perform to how we have done in the past, and we do the things we’re told to do, then we give ourselves a massive chance of getting three points.
“It’s an important game for us now to bounce back from a last-minute goal, and we can show our character and resilience to come back from a disappointing evening. That last minute defeat will seem a long way away, and we’ll be looking forward again.”
The Millers today appointed former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Swansea City manager Kenny Jackett, who will take charge of them for the first time at the New York Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
And it could be quite the contest considering both sides will be desperate for a win. Reading have not won in four games while Rotherham have not picked up a single point from their previous six and have not won since August.
