The former Neil Redfearn favourite never made an appearance for the Millers, and might not.
Chris Dawson at Leeds United
Rotherham United midfielder Chris Dawson has joined Norwegian side Viking Stavanger on loan until January, with a potential permanent deal also in the works.
Dawson’s arrival has been confirmed by the club’s official website.
The move from the Millers to the Scandinavian club is an odd one from an English player but it might give him the chance to play some regular first-team football.
His signing has been engineered by the club’s assistant coach Ian Burchnall – who worked at Leeds whilst attaining coaching accreditation.
Former Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn
Dawson is of course a big favourite of former Rotherham boss Neil Redfearn, who brought him to the New York Stadium from former club Leeds United.
The former Wales under-21 international made his original Leeds breakthrough to the first team in 2013 but he has struggled with a shoulder injury and other ailments since then.
He played just three times for Leeds United since his debut in 2013 and has not fared much better at Rotherham.
Redfearn got the sack not long after he joined the club and Dawson has never featured for Rotherham.
