Leicester City assistant manager Chris Davies has revealed to The Scottish Sun that he watched Celtic’s last two matches.

Davies left Celtic last week – along with Brendan Rodgers – to take the assistant managerial role at Leicester in the Premier League.

It was quite a controversial switch from Rodgers given that the Hoops are so close to completing a domestic treble for the third season in a row.

Leicester coach Davies has revealed that following his departure, he watched the Hoops’ last two matches against Heart of Midlothian and Hibernian.

While Celtic got the better of Hearts 2-1 away from home in the Scottish Premiership last week, this past weekend, the Glasgow giants won 2-0 against Hibernian away from home at Easter Road in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.

Davies told The Scottish Sun: “I wish Celtic all the best for the future. It’s a fantastic club and I had a great time there, with memories that will always stay with me.

“I watched both games this week against Hearts and Hibs and I was cheering them on. I was hoping they’d win and thankfully that’s what happened.”

Meanwhile, Leicester manager Rodgers has revealed that among the Celtic players, only Scott Brown knew about his decision to leave the Hoops before it was made official.

The former Liverpool boss has disclosed the conversation he had with the Scottish midfielder before his departure to Leicester.

Rodgers told The Daily Record: “I spoke to Scott Brown at length. He was the only one I told before I went down.

“I pulled him into my office because he’s been amazing for me and we have a great relationship. I have always been honest with him and then I spoke to him after that on the phone. It was very tough.”
