Celtic’s Scott Brown is one of the club’s all-time best players.

Chris Davies has told Celtic TV that captain Scott Brown has been “first class” since he and manager Brendan Rodgers joined the club almost two years ago.
The Scottish legend made headlines this week by announcing his retirement from international football.
Such a decision has positive implications for Celtic and the international breaks will give the veteran midfielder more recovery time until the domestic calendar resumes.

Brown is adored by the Parkhead faithful and that affection went up a notch in Sunday’s 2-0 win at Aberdeen following his comical reaction to a rash challenge which resulted in a red card for Sam Cosgrove.
Rodgers and his assistant Davies joined the Hoops in May 2016, with Brown inspiring Celtic to four trophies since then – two League Cups, one Scottish Cup and a sixth successive Premiership title.
And the 32-year-old says that the former Hibs man, who joined the Bhoys for £4.4 million in 2007, has been exemplary in that 22-month period.

“I can only judge him in the period I have worked with him and he has been first class since the day we got here,” Davies told Celtic TV.
“He is a great leader. But firstly he is a very good player in his own right. As a central midfielder with the ball he is good in possession and he has good defensive qualities as well.
“The bigger picture is what he does for the team and he is a Celtic legend. I think that is fair to say, even before he has finished playing.”
