Chris Coleman suggests Sunderland will make changes against Brentford

Sunderland are set to take on Brentford in Championship action at the weekend.

Sunderland boss Chris Coleman has told the Chronicle that he will make changes in his side’s next match.

Sunderland managed to pull off a heroic comeback in their last match against Bristol City, as they came back from 3-0 down to escape with a point.

But Coleman was not pleased with the way his team started the contest, and he has suggested that alterations could be made on Saturday, when his side take on Brentford.

“We may have to tweak personnel or formation,” he said. “I don’t care what it is. I don’t mind leaving a player out, I don’t care who he is if I think we’re going to get a result and spark a reaction.

“That’s maybe something we need to analyse between now and the next game to get a response like that.”

Sunderland’s next match comes against Brentford, and there will be hope that their unlikely comeback could be the kick-start their season needs.

The Black Cats looked to be set to fall to another humiliating defeat, but Coleman side’s second half performance showed that they still have some fight in them yet.

Despite their recovery against Bristol City, Sunderland’s survival chances are still looking bleak.

Coleman’s side are sat in 23rd place in the Championship table, and will need to find the winning formula quickly, if they are to survive.
