And Coleman feels that many of Sunderland’s players could learn from Honeyman’s attitude.
The Welsh boss said: “Those type of lads, and I said it last week about George Honeyman’s attitude, if you could bottle it… George knows the parts of his game that he’s short on, but what he’s not short on is enthusiasm and attitude.
“He’s got the heart the size of a dustbin lid, one of the best I’ve ever worked with. You need your George Honeymans, not everyone is like that. “It’s not all on his shoulders but someone with his attitude, you can work with people like that.”
Honeyman’s desire may just be enough to keep him in Sunderland’s squad.
The Black Cats need players who will give their all for the cause over the remainder of the season.
Sunderland are in the thick of a relegation fight, and they are running out of time to save themselves.
Coleman’s men currently sit at the bottom of the Championship table, and are five points adrift of safety.
