The former Sunderland boss has already been linked with the Ipswich Town vacancy.
Chris Coleman is the new Sky Bet favourite to be Ipswich Town’s next manager, a matter of hours after he was sacked by Sunderland.
Coleman was 8/1 for the Portman Road vacancy on Sunday morning, but is now 9/4 – after leapfrogging Paul Cook and Shefki Kuqi.
The former Wales manager was linked with a move to Ipswich while still in charge of Sunderland last week, and his sudden availability could finally convince the Tractor Boys to pounce.
Ironically, Coleman could be replaced at Sunderland by Mick McCarthy, who quit Ipswich earlier this month and is second favourite for the Stadium of Light vacancy – 12 years after he too was sacked by the Wearside club.
Former Ipswich striker Kuqi and Wigan Athletic manager Cook are now the respective second and third favourites to follow McCarthy, either side of Shrewsbury Town’s Paul Hurst (4/1) at 3/1 and 7/1.
