Sunderland have signed up Tyias Browning on loan from Everton.
Browning has joined Sunderland on loan from Everton, but has failed to establish himself as a permanent starter.
The young defender has missed out on playing in Sunderland’s last two matches, but is back in contention now.
Jake Clarke-Salter is set to miss Sunderland’s next three matches, after being sent off against Middlesbrough.
And Coleman has confirmed that Browning has done enough to earn a recall to Sunderland’s first-team in training.
“Ty has trained well. It’s his first full season, and he has played most of his career at right-back and has now been converted to a centre-half,” Coleman said.
“He’s had some really good games, but he’s still young – only 22 or 23 – he’s in uncharted territory, so we took him out to give him a little rest.
“It’s a shame we have lost Jake because in the last few games he has looked the real deal. Last week he looked really good alongside John O’Shea and Lamine.
“But obviously we won’t have him for three games now so it is a chance for Ty to come back into the team and step up to it, and fulfil the potential he has got.”
Sunderland’s next match comes against Millwall at The Den, with the pressure on Coleman’s side to pick up the three points.
The Black Cats are currently sat at the bottom of the table, with time running out to save themselves.
Sunderland could move to within one point of safety if they are able to beat Millwall tomorrow.
