Sunderland youngster Joel Asoro has been handed a number of first-team appearances this season.
Asoro is regarded as one of Sunderland’s brightest prospects, but he has, perhaps, been thrown in earlier than anticipated this season.
Sunderland have had to deal with losing both Lewis Grabban and James Vaughan last month, which has led to Asoro having to take on more responsibility.
The 18-year-old has now made 13 appearances for Sunderland, and he started against Ipswich Town in Coleman’s side last match.
Asoro has shown signs of huge promise this term, but Coleman admits that the youngster still has a lot to learn.
“We’ve got young Joel Asoro who’s so honest he can get bullied,” Coleman said.
“He’s a good player, I’m not singling him out but we’ve got to be a bit more street-smart in games.”
Sunderland were beaten 2-0 by Ipswich in their most recent outing, with their poor form showing no signs of coming to an end.
The Black Cats are currently in 23rd position in the Championship table, and they are in danger of being cut adrift.
Sunderland are next in action against Bristol City at the weekend, in what looks like another tough test.
