Chris Burke left Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers back in 2009.

Chris Burke has suggested to The Times that he proved people wrong after leaving Ibrox club Rangers.
Burke started his professional club football career at Rangers and was on the books of the Ibrox outfit from 2000 until 2009.
The 34-year-old winger, now at Kilmarnock, then moved to Cardiff, who were playing in the Championship at the time.
The Scotland international went on to turn out for Birmingham City, Nottingham Forest and Rotherham United (on loan) in England before moving back to Scotland to play for Ross County.
Burke joined Kilmarnock in the summer of 2017, and he has suggested that he proved people wrong after leaving Rangers for Cardiff back in 2009.
“When I was younger, at Rangers, I maybe didn’t do as much of that as I should have,” Burke told The Times. “But I learned to be more professional.
“When I went to England I was playing three games a week, so you had to look after yourself if you wanted your career to work. I left a club like Rangers and went to Cardiff City and, let’s face it, people thought I would sink without trace.
“So I started looking after my body much better: what to eat, when to rest. I stopped gallivanting around town on a Friday afternoon, if there was a game the next day.”

Title challenge
Both Rangers and Kilmarnock are challenging for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Rangers are second in the league table at the moment, level on points with third-placed Kilmarnock, who have played a game more.
Burke has made 14 starts and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Premiership for Kilmarnock so far this season, scoring two goals in the process, according to WhoScored.
