West Brom ace Chris Brunt spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, and offered high words of praise for the Baggies faithful, thanking them for their continued support throughout what has been an abysmal campaign.

The Black Country outfit currently sit firmly rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, and relegation down to the Championship seems to be a mere formality, despite their superb win against Manchester United last time out.

West Brom’s victory at Old Trafford was only their fourth of the season, with two of those coming in their first two games, and that is quite simply not good enough.

The Hawthorns faithful have stuck by their team through tick and thin, though, and Brunt praised them for backing their team to the hilt throughout what have been turbulent times, as quoted by the Express & Star:

“You’ve got people paying money to come and watch. They travelled in their numbers again (on Sunday). Considering the season we’ve had, the fans have been top draw for us. As we say it is probably too little too late – it might not be, you never know, you’ve got to keep going.”

Next up for the Baggies is a home game against Liverpool on Saturday, and if they can match the application they showcased at Old Trafford, they will have every chance of chalking up back-to-back wins.

In doing so, though, they would surely only be delaying the inevitable for another week or so.
