Salomon Rondon has not scored for West Bromwich Albion since the turn of the year.
West Bromwich Albion’s Salomon Rondon
Chris Brunt has suggested that Salomon Rondon is probably devastated about his ongoing goal drought, but insisted that the whole West Brom team are willing him to find the back of the net once again, the Birmingham Mail reports.
The Venezuelan remains the Baggies’ top goalscorer in the Premier League this season with seven strikes to his name. However, he has not added to his tally since scoring a hat-trick against Swansea City back in mid-December.
But Brunt has defended the striker by suggesting that his game is about much more than goals, and insisted that he will come good in the near future.
“At the minute we’re all willing for Salomon to get a goal for the amount of running about he does and the hard work he does for the team,” he said, as reported by the Mail.
“He was unlucky not to get a goal [against Bournemouth] and I’m sure he’s devastated.
“It will come and I think we all appreciate how hard he works for the team.”

While Tony Pulis would obviously rather see his star striker banging the goals in, what will please him is how the side have managed to put a run of great results together despite the 27-year-old not firing.
The Baggies have won five of their last eight Premier League games, while their only defeat in that run came against high-flying Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
And if Rondon can start scoring again, then there is surely no reason to think that they will have any problem securing a spot in the top eight this term.
