Gilberto Silva has claimed on Instagram that Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey’s chemistry in the middle of the park for Arsenal reminded him of Patrick Vieira and himself.

Both players impressed for Arsenal on Sunday when they helped Mikel Arteta finally record a win at Old Trafford and secure three points against one of the so-called top-six.

For some, Partey bossed the midfield with his aggression and ability to turn over possession. But others think it was Elneny, who was Man of the Match because they feel he showed a completely different side to his game.

Well, this is what Arsenal legend Silva posted about the two players on Instagram.

It’s all well and good for the Arsenal players to put in the performance that they did, but it’s now about adding to that.

If they can start showing consistency, especially in the middle of the park then it will only mean that Arsenal will head in one direction.

Only last season, Elneny was out on-loan and it seemed as though his career at the Emirates was over, so Arteta, and the player himself, deserve huge credit for turning his career around.
