Premier League West Ham United were reportedly keen to reunite Manuel Pellegrini with his former Manchester City and Malaga goalkeeper Willy Caballero.

Willy Caballero has extended his contract with Chelsea, just days after being linked with a move to West Ham United.
The Standard reported on Tuesday that The Hammers had identified Caballero as an experienced understudy to Polish shot-stopper Lukasz Fabianski.
The 37-year-old worked with Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City and Malaga and it seemed that he was in line to work with the Chilean again with his contract at Stamford Bridge expiring next month.
But Caballero will not be making that short trip from Chelsea to West Ham. Despite playing just nine games for The Blues in 2018/19, the Argentina international has inked a new one-year deal to commit his future to the West London giants.
And it seems that he never really gave consideration to joining West Ham.

“I am very happy to renew my contract with Chelsea and hopefully we can enjoy the next season and achieve a lot of targets,” Caballero told the club’s website.
“For me to stay at a big club like Chelsea was a really easy decision.”
West Ham will have to look elsewhere then as they aim to replace long-serving Spaniard Adrian San Miguel.
The 32-year-old is set to become a free agent and, according to Goal, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and even Liverpool have expressed an interest in a bargain deal.
