Sevilla are reportedly after a 12 month extension for flop winger Marko Marin.
When Chelsea snapped up Marko Marin last summer they had picked up a player once dubbed the ‘German Messi’. But his 12 months at the club were more a German mess.
He featured just 15 times in all competitions, as poor form and injury problems cost him a place in the first-team.
This summer, with Willian, Kevin de Bruyne and Andre Schurrle now at the disposal of new boss Jose Mourinho, his time looked up.
However, at 24-years-old, Chelsea would be remiss to give up on him just yet – so instead they sent him out on loan to Spanish outfit Sevilla.
He impressed in Spain at the start of the season but unfortunately, once again, fitness issues have been a stumbling block.
He had suffered hamstring problems throughout his time in London – and once again it is a similar problem plaguing him in Spain.
That has held him back to just 13 appearances for the club – which would have certainly been more should he have remained fit.
But in his brief moments of fitness and excellence he has obviously impressed at the club – as they are reportedly set to take a chance on him again next season.
It is reported that the club are willing to offer Chelsea another loan deal for the player next season – when they will hope he can remain fit and have a more sustained and prominent effect on the first-team affairs.
The clubs sporting director Monchi is said to be in London at the moment – and will use his visit as an opportunity to discuss the possibility of bringing him in on loan at the end of the season.
Marin is said to want a permanent move – but Sevilla want to bring him in on loan once again, to ensure he can play a full season for the first time since 2011-12.
