While most of Chelsea’s attention is on trying to bring in Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet, another issue has started to emerge.
Jacquet is currently the only signing Chelsea are prioritising this month. But if they can’t meet Rennes’ £60m asking price, the club will shift their focus elsewhere.
There are also some potential departures being discussed. Raheem Sterling looks likely to leave, while Axel Disasi has returned to training but still faces questions about his future. Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen have shown interest in Filip Jorgensen.
Decisions are still pending for loanees David Datro Fofana and Kendry Paez, though updates are expected soon. In addition, there’s a possible summer exit that could worry supporters.
What Chelsea would want from PSG to sell Enzo Fernandez

Enzo Fernandez has been a mainstay for Chelsea since arriving in January 2023, already tallying 146 appearances since his £107m transfer. His game has clearly grown during that span, and he now poses more of a scoring threat and plays a larger role with the Argentina national team than when he first arrived.
The current British transfer record sits at £125m, the amount Liverpool paid Newcastle for Alexander Isak. According to Ben Jacobs on CFC Gem’s Live show on X, Chelsea would want more than what they originally paid for Enzo if they were ever to part ways with him.
“For now, it’s all pretty quiet. From PSG’s point of view, as far as I’m told, they’re relatively happy with the midfielder at the moment. It would be a bit of a twist if they tried to do anything for Enzo in the summer.
“From Chelsea’s point of view, any sale would obviously have to be more than the British transfer record that they paid at the time,” Jacobs continued when discussing the chances of a PSG move for Enzo.
“And remember, PSG’s mantra at the moment is not to buy Galacticos or stars or spend world record-type wages or British transfer record-type outgoings. It’s to be much more economical,” said Jacobs.
What Enzo’s recent showing against Brentford might say about his future
Chelsea are currently dealing with a virus spreading through the squad, and Enzo is among those affected. He’s expected to miss Wednesday night’s Champions League fixture against David Luiz’s Pafos.
However, he still managed 85 minutes in Saturday’s match, even though manager Rosenior confirmed he was unwell. It not only shows Enzo’s commitment but also hints at his intentions going forward.
Enzo is under contract until 2032, so there’s no immediate need for Chelsea to consider selling him. While it remains to be seen if he wants to stay long-term, there are indications that he does.
