Chelsea are willing to sell goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in the summer transfer window amid interest from Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United, according to ESPN.

ESPN have reported that Chelsea will look to sell Kepa, who is behind Edouard Mendy in the pecking order at the moment.

Although the Spain international goalkeeper has worked hard to improve his style and has become ‘more aggressive’, last season’s Champions League winners will still offload the £150,000-a-week player, according to the report.

The Daily Star reported in February that Newcastle want to sign Kepa from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Could Kepa Arrizabalaga join Newcastle from Chelsea?

In our opinion, it is unlikely that Kepa Arrizabalaga will move from Chelsea to Newcastle in the summer transfer window.

Now, of course, Chelsea may want to offload the 27-year-old former Athletic Bilbao star, but we have to consider the player’s wishes as well.

Would the goalkeeper be willing to move to a Newcastle team who are unlikely to challenge for the Premier League top four in the next one or two years?

Kepa is 27 now and is used to challenging for top hours.

The Spanish goalkeeper will surely want to move to a club who are already challenging for league titles and competing in the Champions League.
