Anfield transfer?

Like Chelsea and Manchester United, Liverpool had an eye on De Jong in the summer of 2022.

The Times reported on August 27 that Liverpool were considering a move for Barcelona midfielder De Jong late in the summer window.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport at the time.

Liverpool may have to sign a few midfielders next summer when James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are out of contract.

Maybe the Merseyside club should seriously consider making a bid for De Jong.
