Chelsea host Leicester City at Stamford Bridge in Saturday’s early kick-off.

This weekend sees the return of Premier League action following the second international break of the season, and the first game sees Chelsea hosting champions Leicester City in Saturday’s early kick-off.
Both sides have had mixed starts to the campaign, sitting seventh and 12th in the table respectively, and it is fair to say that they are heavily reliant on the form of their star wingers, with Chelsea needing Eden Hazard to shine and Leicester requiring star turns from Riyad Mahrez.
Neither has managed to do so just yet but how do the two compare so far? We took a look at the stats.

As it turns out it is Hazard who has been the far better player, coming out on top in all eight areas looked at.
So far he has been the far better passer, posting more accurate passes, more successful final-third passes and more key passes than Mahrez.
He has also enjoyed a better passing accuracy, with his score of 84% topping the Algerian star’s tally of 76%.
In terms of dribbles he has posted more than double the number of successful dribbles that Mahrez has managed, 30 compared to 14 and posted double the number of accurate crosses.

The latter naturally means he has enjoyed a better crossing accuracy, 17% compared to the Algerian’s score of 8%.
He also comes out on top in the shooting stats having managed more shots on target than Mahrez, nine compared to five.
Whoever comes out on top this weekend is likely to play a key role in which team ends up with all three points. Chelsea will be hoping Hazard enjoys similar success as in this head-to-head.
