Chelsea are looking to continue to climb the table while Everton will fancy their chances of chalking up a win as they look to get some momentum into their season.
To be played on Saturday 16th January 2016 at 15:00. Venue: Stamford Bridge, London
Odds: Chelsea 5/6, Draw 29/10, Everton 9/5
It has been an odd season for both sides so far. Chelsea’s has been well documented as the defending champions still languish in the bottom half of the table, while Everton are talked up as a side with so much talent and potential but have only managed to win the six league games so far this season.
Therefore, it feels like a big game for both sides. Chelsea sit in 14th place – six points above the relegation zone knowing that a win could take them to within a point of their opponents.
Everton could move into the top half with a win and can take heart from their recent performances in the bigger games as they have taken a first leg lead in the semi-final of their League Cup semi-final against Manchester City, a creditable draw against the same opponents in midweek in the league – and have managed to beat Chelsea once this season at Goodison Park.
Both sides have their fair share of injury worries but a lot of them seem to be minor and a case of wait and see ahead of kick off though Chelsea are still likely to be without Eden Hazard, while defender Seamus Coleman will remain sidelined for the Toffees.
It feels like a big game for both sides and an opportunity for both to get a big win to try and finish the season strongly.
