TalkSPORT now report a new update in the race to sign Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher after reports that Everton had made a £45million bid to land the England star – by claiming West Ham also want the Newcastle target on loan.

The race is hotting up for Gallagher with the England star likely to be right in the thick of it on deadline day. The 22-year-old star is the subject of a £45million bid – £40m, plus £5m in add-ons – from Everton, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Gallagher has constantly been linked with a move. Keith Downie reports that Newcastle could make a late move for a player that was in Gareth Southgate’s England squad in Qatar. That is, despite the Toon signing Anthony Gordon.

The £45m fee paid for Gordon seems to be the fee on the table for Gallagher. But TalkSPORT understands that Everton – who appointed Sean Dyche as boss today – are not the only club keen. Newcastle, Palace and West Ham want a loan.

West Ham want Chelsea midfielder Gallagher on loan

Gallagher would be a wonderful signing for most clubs in the Premier League. With Chelsea spending big on a regular basis, Gallagher is likely to be considered for an exit. Especially, if permanent offers are on the table. But he is young.

And of course, Gallagher presents a homegrown talent within the squad – aiding registration rules in European football. So, Chelsea have good reason to want to keep him. A loan may be preferred by the Chelsea hierarchy, this month.

Chelsea have the option to both sell him, and loan him out. It will be up to the Blues, and of course the player, where he chooses to go. Of course, Gallagher has gone out on loan before and he may feel that it is time he leaves for good.
