Graham Potter’s Chelsea have beaten Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United to the signing of Malo Gusto from Lyon, according to reports from The Athletic and RMC Sport.
Chelsea win race to Tottenham Hotspur target Malo Gusto
RMC Sport have reported that Chelsea and Lyon have agreed a deal over the transfer of Gusto to the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.
The French news outlet has claimed that Gusto will sign his contract with Chelsea in England and will then go back to Lyon for the rest of the season.
The Athletic have also claimed that Chelsea and Lyon ‘reached an agreement in principle’ over the 19-year-old French right-back.
The Premier League club will pay the Ligue 1 outfit €30million (£26.3m) plus add-ons for the services of the 19-year-old.

Blow for Spurs
This development on the future of Gusto will come as a blow for Tottenham among other clubs.
90min have reported that Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City all have scouted the France Under-21 international right-back and are keen on him.
FootMercato reported last week that Spurs are among a number of clubs who are keen on securing the services of the France Under-21 international right-back.
There have been reports that Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte wants a better right-back/right wing-back than Emerson Royal.
FootMercato also claimed that Newcastle were ready to make a big offer for Lyon right-back Gusto.
However, it seems that Chelsea have beaten all of them to the signing of the teenager.
