Chelsea striker and former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is reportedly wanted by Spanish clubs, with the attacker now tipped to leave Stamford Bridge just a few months after arriving.
According to the Daily Mail, Aubameyang is attracting interest from several clubs in Spain as the impending arrival of Joao Felix means that the former Gabon international could see his playing time at Chelsea, which is already reduced, decrease even more.
Whilst the report does stress that an exit from Chelsea is most likely in the summer, it is rather telling that clubs already want Aubameyang just over six months since returning to the Premier League, 12 months after being released by Arsenal.
The 33-year-old striker was infamously stripped of the captaincy and then released by Arsenal last January as Mikel Arteta made arguably his biggest power play yet as manager of the Gunners. However, allowing Aubameyang to leave has proven to be a masterstroke, with the forward now struggling at Chelsea.

Slammed by pundit Chris Sutton as ’embarrassing’, Aubameyang has managed just three goals in all competitions this season for the Blues since signing for the club from FC Barcelona on deadline day. And now, there’s a good chance that the attacker will be gone come to the summer transfer window.
Indeed, many criticised Arsenal’s decision to allow a striker as efficient as Aubameyang to leave last year. But, the striker’s struggles at Chelsea have proven that the north London side, now leading in the Premier League, were more than right to allow the forward to leave.
Aubameyang leaving Chelsea now will be another embarrassing transfer episode

Chelsea enjoyed one of the most expensive transfer windows in recent memory last summer, with Aubameyang one of the last players new owner Todd Bohely brought into the club. However, the striker leaving the club now will be nothing short of embarrassing for the Blues.
After all, the former Arsenal captain as viewed by many as a safe bet to succeed at Stamford Bridge and end the no. 9 curse that has plagued the club for so long. However, Aubameyang have proven to be nothing more than another disappointment for Chelsea, and the attacker leaving this month would be rather fitting.
