Moises Caicedo has said he is happy at Brighton & Hove Albion and is not interested in leaving amid reports that Chelsea and Liverpool are keen on signing the midfielder.

Speaking to the Seagulls’ official website, the Premier League superstar revealed that he is only focused on playing for Brighton following growing rumours that the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle United are all interested in signing Caicedo.

However, the 21-year-old has now since come out and put his future to bed by saying he wants to stay on the south coast, with Caicedo saying: “I am focused on Brighton. I am here, I’m playing every day. Things from outside don’t trouble me, nor does it take that focus away because I’m focused only on here.”

The South American talent later added: “I handle [the speculation] well. You hear rumours here and there, but I only try to be focused on the club where I am now, the club which opened the doors for me to be playing every week.”

Caicedo has established himself as one of the best young talents in the Premier League this season. And with the top clubs in the division all looking to sign a central midfielder, it makes sense why the Brighton star has emerged as a target in recent weeks.

However, the youngster has made the right call in committing his future, at least for the rest of this season, to Brighton, with Caicedo capable of getting even better with the Seagulls this campaign and potentially increasing his asking price to an even higher point come the summer transfer window.

Caicedo’s stock seems to rise with each passing Premier League game. And for the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool, there’s a growing chance that the English giants could have to break Jack Grealish’s £100m Manchester City transfer to prize the Ecuador star away from Brighton.

After all, the Seagulls are stern operators in the transfer market and won’t allow any player to leave for a price they believe to be below their current value. And for Caicedo, there’s every chance that the midfielder will leave for a Premier League record sum in the summer.
