Chelsea are reportedly ready to loan out Omari Hutchinson six months after the teenager decided to leave Arsenal in favour of a move to their west London rivals.

According to the Evening Standard, the Blues are open to loaning out the Jamaican international as well as Italian prospect Cesare Casadei, with the duo only joining Chelsea in the summer in fairly high-profile deals under new owner Todd Boehly.

To the surprise of few, neither player has featured heavily for Chelsea’s senior team this season, with Hutchinson making just two substitute appearances for Graham Potter’s side since opting to quit Arsenal for the two-time UEFA Champions League winners.

The transfer, at the time, was widely panned by Arsenal supporters given how obvious it was that Hutchinson wouldn’t be a regular for Chelsea this season or in the years to come. And six months down the line, north London supporters have seemingly been proven right.

Lauded by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a ‘magician’, Chelsea loaning out Hutchinson is something the Blues should have done at the start of the season given how established the winger already was at youth level, yet it now appears that the west London side have come to their senses.

Indeed, at 19, Hutchinson still has a lot of time on his hands to develop into a top player. However, not loaning him out at the start of the season could prove to be a major mistake for Chelsea, with time now running out for the winger to find a temporary club in the January window.

First-team opportunities have been sparse for Hutchinson at Chelsea. However, the Redhill-born talent now has a chance to impress those at the Blues if the winger manages to win a loan move away from west London in the final few days of the January window.

We know that Hutchinson is a player that is rated highly at Chelsea and in English youth football, yet testing himself in either the Championship of a top European league would be a good step forward for the winger in his quest to impress those at his new club, with a squad role next season a realistic goal for the attacker.
