Chelsea are reportedly willing to offer Mason Mount to Atletico Madrid in an attempt to sign Joao Felix permanently, though interest from Liverpool in the England international could provide some issues.
According to Marca, the west London side are keen to sign the Portuguese international beyond his current loan spell after an impressive start to life in the Premier League despite playing just three matches for Chelsea, with options now being discussed in how to turn this deal into a permanent one.
As per the report, Chelsea could offer players to Atletico in order to bring the over value of the transfer up without having to pay actual money to the La Liga side, with Mount one of the players who is most likely to be offered if the Blues were to go down this route.
The 24-year-old playmaker’s contract is due to expire next year, and with Chelsea struggling to sign Mount to a new deal, transfer interest is beginning to increase for the Portsmouth-born talent, with the Guardian reporting that Liverpool have the midfielder on their radar.

Whilst Chelsea are unlikely to sell Mount to Liverpool given how close the two clubs are to one another in Premier League quality, offering the England international out to sign Felix permanently could be a masterstroke for the Stamford Bridge side given how highly rated the midfielder is.
Indeed, Transfermarkt alone values Mount at an incredible €75m (£67m), and if Atletico are willing to accept the 24-year-old as part of an exchange for Felix, then Chelsea could be home-and-dry in trying to bring the Portuguese international in on a permanent deal.
Chelsea signing Felix with Mount moving on is genius

Mount has been key to Chelsea in the last few seasons, but if there is a chance that the midfielder can be moved on to bring in a £130m-rated forward in Felix, then the Blues have to take that opportunity, even if Liverpool could have offered a transfer fee for the England international.
Moreover, the Chelsea man himself could benefit greatly from a move away from England, with La Liga a slower division that could work to Mount’s advantage as well as playing under Diego Simeone, who has got the best out of English players before, namely Kieran Trippier.
