Ian Wright has spoken about the future of Chelsea-owned Romelu Lukaku, who has been tipped to join Tottenham Hotspur, amid his current loan spell at Inter Milan.

But, for Wright, he thinks Romelu Lukaku ‘doesn’t want to come back’ to the Premier League, even though Chelsea are in need of a number nine, as he told PL Productions (15/05/23 at 2:55 pm).

On Tuesday night, Lukaku came off the bench to help Inter Milan reach the Champions League final, after they saw off bitter rivals, AC Milan.

There is every chance the 30-year-old returns to Stamford Bridge as a European Cup winner. But where does his future lie? Mauricio Pochettino might have a big say in that.

Back in February, Lukaku was linked with Tottenham, but that would require Harry Kane to leave, among other massive obstacles, with Spurs-supporting pundit Darren Ambrose admitting that he would take the Belgian in the summer.

But, for Wright, Lukaku’s mind is probably made up, as he continues to enjoy himself at the San Siro.

“I saw somewhere that they are trying to negotiate to extend his loan,” said Wright. “I think he wants Chelsea to continue to pay more of the loan.

“He doesn’t want to come back. I don’t think he wants to come back.”

LUKAKU SHOULD STAY AT INTER

Mauricio Pochettino is the type of manager that could get the best out of Lukaku, but the player himself seems to be enjoying himself in Milan.

Therefore, he should stay put beyond the summer, and if he can, sign a permeant deal.

He shouldn’t have left Inter in the first place. A possible move to Tottenham was understandable when Antonio Conte is in the dugout, but not anymore.

Plus, from Manchester United to West Ham United. No other teams suits him and staying in Italy is his best option.
