Jude Bellingham has been reportedly told by his entourage not to sign for Chelsea, with the rumoured Liverpool target advised to avoid the west London side based on their new transfer policy.
According to Sport Bild via Sport Witness, the Borussia Dortmund superstar has been urged against signing for the Blues following Todd Boehly’s scattergun approach to transfers, with the American businessman already spending over £500m for Chelsea in his first two windows since taking over from Roman Abramovich.
The news will come as a welcome update for Liverpool, who as per the report are long-term admirers of Bellingham and are keen to sign the midfielder in the summer, with the 19-year-old England international widely expected to leave Germany for a Premier League move.
Whilst Chelsea have been linked with Bellingham, Liverpool and Manchester City have seemingly established themselves as the two favourites from England to land the teenage wonderkid, with both Premier League sides set to go big to bring the midfielder back to his home country.
Indeed, Bellingham signing for Chelsea would make little sense given that the Blues have just spent a Premier League record £107m to sign Enzo Fernandez, with the deal amortised in a way that would never be accepted by Dortmund this summer.
As a result, Liverpool could now be one of the leading clubs to sign Bellingham in the summer, with the player’s own associates even worried that a move to Chelsea might not be the best decision for the Birmingham-born superstar after Dortmund.

Chelsea’s spending this January has been as erratic as it has been ingenious, with the Blues managing to dodge FFP regulations with the structure of their transfers and securing some top talents to long-term contracts. Yet it seems like these methods don’t appeal to Bellingham.
As we know, the midfielder is keen on a return to England, yet with Bellingham now being advised not to join the west London side, Liverpool and City could soon have a free shot at trying to sign the England superstar in the coming months.
