According to The Athletic, Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly does not want to sell Mason Mount, who is on the radar of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
Todd Boehly doesn’t want Liverpool target Mason Mount to leave Chelsea
The report has claimed that Boehly and Clearlake Capital ‘very much want to keep’ Liverpool target Mount and do not want to sell the England international midfielder.
The Guardian reported in November 2022 that Liverpool are interested in signing Mount from Premier League rivals Chelsea and could make a move for the 24-year-old in the January transfer window.
The London Evening Standard reported this week that Liverpool remain keen on Mount with a view to a summer deal.
Chelsea and Mount are reportedly in talks over a new contract, with the 24-year-old looking for an increase on his £85,000-a-week (talkSPORT) salary.

Likely outcome
In our view, Chelsea and Mason Mount will eventually come to an agreement over a new deal and Liverpool will miss out on the England international midfieler.
We do not think that Chelsea will just sell the 24-year-old at the end of the season.
After all, Mount has been one of the best players for Chelsea over the years and has come through the academy.
He is one of their own.
Boehly will be well aware of that, and we think that the American will eventually get a deal done with Mount and his agents.
