Todd Boehly has moved to great lengths for Chelsea to beat interest from Aston Villa and Everton in the transfer of Villarreal star Nicolas Jackson with his medical booked.

That is according to The Guardian, which reports that Chelsea are set to win the tussle over a transfer with Villareal for Jackson. The Blues are hopeful of concluding all negotiations for the 22-year-old to move to Stamford Bridge on the back of confirming Christopher Nkunku.

Chelsea feared failing to finalise a deal for the Senegal striker’s switch with numerous rival Premier League clubs interested. AFC Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Everton have also held an interest in convincing Jackson to move to England. But he has elected to join the Blues.

Villarreal star Jackson is having his Chelsea medical this weekend

Jackson has already accepted Chelsea’s offer of personal terms. Whilst the Stamford Bridge natives aim to sort the final details of their discussions with Villarreal. The west London outfit are set to pay his La Liga side in excess of the £30m release clause in his contract in Spain.

Chelsea are paying slightly over the fee to see off Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Everton’s interest in Jackson’s transfer. While the Daily Mail also now reports that it is the Blues’ co-owner, Boehly, fluttering his riches once again. It will help with Mauricio Pochettino’s rebuild.

Boehly bid big to beat Aston Villa and Everton to the transfer

The Daily Mail further adds that Jackson is undergoing his medical with Chelsea in London this weekend. All that remains in talks between the Blues and Villarreal is the structure of their payments. His arrival would follow Nkunku’s £53m move from RB Leipzig on Tuesday.

Chelsea chief Boehly bid big to beat Aston Villa and Everton to Jackson’s transfer after the 22-year-old scored 13 goals in 38 games for Villarreal through 2022/23. He also laid on five assists with four in 26 La Liga games. He ended the term with nine goals in eight matches.
