Chelsea are now reportedly chasing former Tottenham academy star Noni Madueke, with the Blues weighing up the chance to sign the England youth international in the coming weeks.
According to Voetbal International, the west London side are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old winger. However, as per the report, it is unlikely that PSV Eindhoven will allow the attacker to leave this month having already sold Cody Gakpo to Liverpool.
With a contract until 2025, it would take quite the financial effort from Chelsea to sign Madueke this month, a player who came through Tottenham’s academy before deciding to take his talents abroad to Holland, where the youngster has since shined in the Eredivise.
Despite an injury-hit 2022, Madueke is set for a huge year at Eindhoven in the wake of Gakpo’s departure. However, Chelsea could soon change that if the Blues are willing to go big on bringing the former Tottenham wonderkid back to the English capital.

An attacker who in an interview likened his style of play to Lionel Messi, Madueke is a player who isn’t short on confidence. However, with PSV only just selling Gakpo to Liverpool, Chelsea could struggle to match whatever the Dutch side will demand for the winger this month.
Indeed, Madueke himself could also not be too sold on a return to the Premier League just yet, with the forward making seven appearances this season in all competitions and only now making a long-awaited comeback from a long-term ankle injury, meaning signing for Chelsea could all be too soon for the winger.
Madueke would be wise to reject chance to sign for Chelsea

Chelsea are something of a mess this season, with Graham Potter’s side sat in mid-table and already out of both domestic cup competitions, with the moves made in the window this January hardly instilling confidence in supporters. And for Madueke, this could be enough to put him off a return to London.
After all, the former Tottenham academy star is a player who has the potential to one day return to the Premier League. Yet with the attacker hardly playing this season and Chelsea a massive step up from PSV, Madueke would be wise to reject the chance to sign for the west London side.
