Graham Potter’s Chelsea are interested in signing Romeo Lavia from Premier League rivals Southampton in the January transfer window, according to The Athletic.
The report published this morning has claimed that Lavia is among a number of midfielders Chelsea are looking at possibly bringing in now.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners reportedly wanted to sign Lavia from Southampton in the summer of 2022 and enquired about him.
Could Chelsea sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton?
In our view, Chelsea could be able to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton in the middle of the season, but they would have to pay a good transfer fee.

The Saints are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, and they are not going to sell any of their players in the January transfer window on the cheap.
Described as “extremely talented” by then Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl on the club’s official website in July 2022, the 18-year-old defensive midfielder cost the Saints £14 million (The Daily Mail) in transfer fees last summer.
Chelsea will surely have to pay much more than that now.
Lavia has made six starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Southampton so far this season, scoring one goal in the process.
