Chelsea could reportedly beat the likes of Tottenham to the signing of Dusan Vlahovic, who could be set to leave Juventus at the end of this season.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the chances of the Serbian international departing Turin in the summer are growing, with Juventus unlikely to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and the Italian giants in desperate need of generating some revenue via player sales.

Whilst Chelsea could be an ideal destination for Vlahovic, CalcioMercatoWeb report that Tottenham are also chasing the £91m-rated striker, with Spurs potentially in the market for a new superstar signing if Harry Kane is to leave north London in the summer.

Indeed, although Tottenham could finish higher than Chelsea in the Premier League this season, there’s every chance that the Blues will blow their English rivals out of the water with a monster bid for Vlahovic, and Jacobs believes a move could soon happen in the summer.

The journalist said: “Dusan Vlahovic is the other one I think to keep a really close eye on because there’s a real opportunity for a Premier League club to come in the summer and sign him from Juventus because there’s so much upheaval because their finances aren’t great.”

Jacobs added with: “They are not likely now because of their 15 points deduction to make Champions League football and even though Max Allegri could well go at the end of the season, at the moment, Vlahovic, despite scoring goals, is not as happy playing under Allegri as he was in the Fiorentina system before he moved.”

Chelsea’s striker curse is one of the most famous conspiracy theories in all of football, with the Blues seemingly having just two attackers since their rise to prominence to have ever flourished in the central forward role in club legend Didier Drogba and Diego Costa. Yet Vloahovic could break this streak.

The 23-year-old is one of the best young attackers in football, and given Vlahovic’s physicality and goalscoring capabilities, the Juventus star could be the man to end Chelsea’s striker curse, with beating Tottenham to the signing an extra sweetener for Graham Potter’s side.
