Graham Potter’s Chelsea believe that they can sign Arsenal target Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach for £8.5 million in the January transfer window, according to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs on Twitter.
Chelsea stance on Arsenal target Marcus Thuram
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Chelsea are actively trying to sign Thuram, who has also been linked with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the January transfer window.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners believe that they can agree a fee of £8.5 million with Monchengladbach, but they face a challenge in convincing the France international forward to make the move to Stamford Bridge in the middle of the season.
The 25-year-old – described as “a world-class striker” by Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schafer in Kicker – is out of contact at Bundesliga club Monchengladbach at the end of the season.
So, Thuram would have a number of options to choose from next summer.
Arsenal are among them.

MilanLive have reported that Arsenal are competing with Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Atletico Madrid for the 25-year-old.
With Gabriel Jesus injured at the moment, the Gunners could do with signing a new striker in the January transfer window.
However, with Chelsea also keen, it is not going to be easy for Arsenal.
