The Spaniard initially failed to settle in West London, and spent the majority of his time warming the Chelsea bench, but this season has seen a dramatic turnaround in the former Barcelona man’s fortunes, and he has played 16 games for Antonio Conte’s men, chipping in with four goals and five assists.

And during an interview with the Telegraph’s Matt Law, the 29-year-old picked out a Spurs player as the toughest opponent he has fced since moving to the Premier League in August 2015:

Rose has been a revelation for both club and country over this past couple of years, and has proven to be a vital member of Tottenham and England’s first-teams.
