Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech has opened the door to a possible move to Tottenham in the January transfer window – when asked about his future by Dutch site NOS. Spurs have been linked with a surprise move for the World Cup ace.
Ziyech, 29, has failed to encapsulate the form that saw him shine at Ajax and earn a move to Chelsea. Playing 162 times for Ajax, the player had a hand in 130 goals. But joining Chelsea, in 2020, he has managed just 24 goal involvements.
Not enough. Bought for £35million, Football London report Chelsea are ready to sell the 44-time Morocco star – but only for the right price. Algemeen Dagblad say Ziyech is keen to leave Chelsea and Antonio Conte wants him at Spurs.
Following Morocco’s 0-0 draw with Croatia on Thursday, a game in which Ziyech earned criticism from John Hartson, the playmaker was asked about his future. He told NOS, as quoted by The Metro, that it anything can happen.
“It’s hard to say, difficult to say. We don’t know what will happen in the winter. It’s football, so it’s difficult to say,” Ziyech told reporters, when discussing his future at Stamford Bridge under new manager Graham Potter.

Is Ziyech the kind of player Tottenham need? Many have been calling out for more of an attacking midfielder, with Dejan Kulusevski the only player capable of producing something out of nothing. Ziyech used to be able to do that.
But since his move to Chelsea, his confidence has plummeted and it showed on Wednesday. He was a shadow of his former self for Morocco, on the World Cup stage. Would that improve at Spurs? Would he get the game time?
You would have to argue that with Conte’s system and the way he wants to play, he is only going to provide cover for the front three. Even then, he is going to play out wide when some would argue he is probably better as a 10.
