Chelsea star ‘can’t wait to see his mate’ in Champions League tie

Demba Ba has sent a good wish message to his friend and former team-mate Yohan Cabaye after the pair were drawn together in the Champions League.

The Champions League draw was completed today – and Chelsea now know who they will have to beat in order to make it into the semi-finals once again.

In comparison to Manchester United’s unfortunate luck at being drawn against Bayern Munich in the final eight Chelsea take on Paris Saint-Germain.

But PSG should not be underestimated.

They may not have the prestige of other names left in the competition – but nonetheless they should be considered a genuine threat.

That threat has come mainly from their ability to spend vast sums of money on players in a league bereft of big spenders. And their most recent acquisition was that of a Premier League star.

PSG won the race to snap up Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye in January – snapped up for a fee in the region of £19 million.

And his almost immediate reunion with Premier League competition sees him meet a former team-mate and good friend in Chelsea striker Demba Ba.

Ba and Cabaye played for Newcastle together – and the Chelsea striker has taken to his Instagram account to welcome the news of his upcoming meeting with an old friend:

Can’t wait to see my mate yo!

Chelsea fans however will hope that friendliness ends as soon as the whistle blows in this tie.
