Jason Cundy has jokingly said on talkSPORT (8:17pm, February 26, 2023) that Chelsea should look at appointing Tottenham Hotspur assistant head coach Cristian Stellini as their new manager.

The former Chelsea and Tottenham defender made the comments after the London derby between the two sides at the weekend.

Tottenham beat Chelsea 2-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

It was yet another defeat for Chelsea boss Potter.

The Englishman was appointed the Chelsea manager earlier in the season.

Things have been very bad for the Blues under the former Brighton and Hove Albion manager.

It is unlikely that Chelsea will finish in the Premier League top four this season.

And the former English and European champions could also get knocked out of the UEFA Champions League at the Round of 16 stage.

Stellini was on the touchline for Tottenham’s match against Chelsea.

Antonio Conte, the Tottenham head coach, is recovering from health problems.

With Stellini on the touchline, Spurs have won all of their matches.

The 47-year-old Italian coach won all three of the matches that he was ‘in charge’ of at Inter Milan during the 2020-21 season when Conte was suspended.

Inter won the Scudetto that season.

Pundit Dean Saunders: “Hey, the assistant manager is not bad.”

Cundy: “Do you know what I found out today? When he over was in Italy last season, when Conte was suspended, there were three games when he was up in the stands, do you know how many games he won?

Saunders: “Three.”

Cundy: “He has never lost a game so far! He has had six games as a manager. Do you know what? There will be managers up and down. Chelsea should look at him.”
