Graham Potter fears another N’Golo Kante injury in what may be seen as something of a warning for Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea beat AC Milan 2-0 on Tuesday night and were certainly helped by a contentious Fikayo Tomori red card.

Jorginho and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were both on the scoresheet at the San Siro as Chelsea moved to the top of Group E.

One player who wasn’t involved at all though was midfielder Kante, with injury concerns once again looming large.

Graham Potter fears another N’Golo Kante injury

Kante, 31, has only played twice this season, featuring in the first two games of the season against Everton and Tottenham.

A hamstring injury has kept him out ever since and it looks like there may well have been a setback.

Potter has told the Daily Mail that Kante has ‘had a reaction in training’ and Chelsea are now waiting on news.

Kante wasn’t even on the bench against AC Milan and Potter seemingly doesn’t feel all that encouraged about Kante’s situation.

“N’Golo, we are just waiting — he has had a reaction in training so we are just waiting on the news from that,” said Potter. “It’s certainly not ideal and it’s disappointing for him and for us. We have to wait and see the extent of it and go from there,” he added.

This is a big blow for Kante and sadly, it’s news that is becoming all too familiar.

Kante missed 12 Premier League games last season with a variety of issues from groin problems to a knee issue.

It feels like injuries are becoming a real problem for Kante as he heads into his 30’s and that’s a red flag for both Arsenal and Tottenham.

Foot Mercato reported last week that Kante – whose Chelsea contract expires next summer – wants to stay in London even if Chelsea don’t want him.

Arsenal and Tottenham are understood to be interested in Kante on a free transfer but they need to be wary of these injury issues.

If Kante is going to keep breaking down in the coming years then a deal may not be worth striking, so this could be a huge season for the Frenchman as he looks to prove that he can still be the force he once was for Chelsea.
