Chelsea defeated Liverpool earlier in an excellent performance at Anfield – in which they truly proved their title credentials.
The Blues were in top form against Liverpool, although had to come down from a goal down to secure victory.
Emre Can gave Liverpool the lead with a deflected shot beyond the helpless Thibaut Courtois. However woeful defending from Liverpool allowed Gary Cahill to equalise, with the help of goal-line technology.
Then it was the turn of their goalscoring supremo. Diego Costa once again showed why £32 million was spent on bringing him to Stamford Bridge this summer – scoring what proved to be the winner in an exciting game, ultimately, Chelsea deserved three points from.
It has not stretched their lead at the top of the table – as Southampton again claimed victory in their respective tie against Leicester City.
But the Chelsea players were out in force on Twitter and the like to celebrate the club’s victory against a team quickly proving to no longer pose a title threat.
