Tottenham Hotspur are considered to be the more likely destination for Conor Gallagher as he nears a Chelsea exit.
West Ham United have failed with a bid for Conor Gallagher and a move to Tottenham Hotspur is now considered more likely.
That is according to The Telegraph, who claim that West Ham have offered £25million for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.
The offer for Ward-Prowse comes amid claims that West Ham are also attempting £40million move for Chelsea ace Gallagher.
However, The Telegraph’s report claims that Gallagher is actually more likely to sign for London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The Guardian reported just a few days ago that Spurs have already held talks to try and sign Gallagher this summer.
We don’t really see Chelsea and Tottenham do deals together but Gallagher could trade West London for the north of the capital.
That would leave West Ham to look elsewhere, possibly turning them onto the more experienced Ward-Prowse.

West Ham now unlikely to return for Tottenham Hotspur target Conor Gallagher
The London Evening Standard report that West Ham have submitted a £40million bid for Gallagher, made up of £37million plus £3million in add-ons.
Chelsea have said no and it’s suggested that West Ham don’t want to go any higher.
It’s not often that clubs make one bid and then back away but maybe West Ham made their best offer first.
West Ham backing away from Gallagher may well leave Tottenham in the clear for his signature this summer.

Spurs are looking for a box-to-box midfield player to join Yves Bissouma and James Maddison in midfield.
Rodrigo Bentancur isn’t back for a while yet and the likes of Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele will surely move on.
Gallagher would be given a key role in Ange Postecoglou’s midfield, providing a real goal threat whilst breaking forward.
Spurs may have to go towards £50million for Gallagher but they will be very encouraged by West Ham’s alleged decision to back away.
