Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is keen on bringing Everton duo Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley to Stamford Bridge next season, according to a report in The Telegraph.

The report suggests that any deal for the pair, who have both been in fine form for the Toffees this season, could cost the London club up to £100 million, as Ronald Koeman’s side desperately attempt to keep hold of the pair.

Everton striker Lukaku, who has scored 81 goals for the Toffees since departing Chelsea on a permanent deal, and has at times carried his sides hopes of European football heavily on his shoulders. However, it is understandable that the striker wants to keep competing at the highest level, and with Everton still struggling to crack the top four, a move away from the club might be inevitable.

Ross Barkley on the other hand has struggled to live up to his full potential over the last year or so. Despite moments of brilliance, the attacking midfielder has struggled with consistency.

However, under Ronald Koeman, Ross Barkley has improved. Tracking back more, running more, and looking like more of a complete midfielder, the young England prospect looks to really be coming into his own at Goodison Park. It’s no surprise now to see clubs like Chelsea being interested in Barkley after his upturn in form, but would a move away really help the player?

With things beginning to really take off under Koeman, a summer of losing big name players could spell frustrating times ahead for Everton fans, who have had to put up with their fair share of set-backs over the past couple of seasons.
