Chelsea have high hopes for Conor Gallagher, who rejected a summer move to Leeds United – and some even think he could be like N’Golo Kante.
Gallagher’s Leeds snub
Leeds have missed out on some quality players in the Victor Orta era. Harvey Barnes springs to mind…
Orta went for Gallagher over the summer. After a loan spell at West Brom, Gallagher was available on loan again.
Unfortunately for Leeds, Gallagher rejected a move to Elland Road in favour of joining Crystal Palace, leaving Orta and Marcelo Bielsa gutted.
How is Gallagher faring at Crystal Palace?
Very well.
Gallagher has racked up four goals and three assists in 14 games at Palace, becoming a star under Patrick Vieira.
The 21-year-old has been all-action in midfield, showing Leeds exactly what they missed out on.

Gallagher – Chelsea’s next Kante?
The Telegraph claim that Chelsea coaches think so highly of Gallagher that they believe he could be like N’Golo Kante in midfield.
We currently see Gallagher as quite an attack-minded midfielder, but Chelsea coaches believe he has Kante-like quality.
Maybe that defensive awareness comes with age, and it may mean Chelsea don’t splash the cash on another midfield signing.
