Manchester City tipped to bounce back ahead of Chelsea next season, with Tottenham fading, while its even worse for Liverpool and Arsenal.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte
This Premier League season is far from over just yet, with Chelsea facing a tricky trip to Manchester United this weekend.
Despite this the bookies are already offering odds on where the 2017/18 title may end up, and the Blues are not being tipped to lift the crown.
– SkyBet have Manchester City as favourites at 2/1, with Pep Guardiola expected to fight back in his second season once he remodels his side in the transfer market this summer.
City are in fourth position in this year’s race, 14 points off top spot.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola
– Chelsea are listed as second favourites at 11/4. Antonio Conte’s side will have a tougher test next season with Champions League football to balance.
For comparison they are 1/25 on to win the league this season with second placed Spurs at 10/1.
– Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United are third favourites at 3/1, with the Red Devils expected to get closer after a season on the fringes of the top four.
– The ever improving Tottenham are almost an afterthought at 9/1, fourth in the running.
Possible reasons to expect a drop off in performance include a bigger transfer budget from other teams and the challenge of playing their Premier League home games at Wembley.
Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger
– Liverpool are third in the Premier League this season at present but Jurgen Klopp’s side are rated fifth in the title hunt next year.
They are listed as 12/1 to win it. Fix their defence and sign a prolific striker and who knows what they could be capable of.
– Arsenal are not expected to get close, with the uncertainty over the future of manager Arsene Wenger a factor.
