Chelsea are considering a move for New England Revolution goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic amid recent links to Liverpool.
New England Revolution goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic is being considered for a move to Chelsea this summer.
That is according to The Telegraph, who claim that Chelsea are weighing up the possibility of moving to sign Petrovic.
It’s stated that Chelsea are keen to sign a new goalkeeper after allowing Kepa Arrizabalaga to join Real Madrid.
Robert Sanchez has arrived to replace Edouard Mendy this summer but Chelsea now need more competition for the Spaniard.
Petrovic is now emerging as a real option for the Blues, having been on the radar at Stamford Bridge for a while.
Chelsea’s goalkeeper on the bench against Liverpool on Sunday was Lucas Bergstrom, a 20-year-old Finnish goalkeeper whose only league action came in League One with Peterborough United last season.
Mauricio Pochettino needs a more senior stopper as competition for Sanchez with Petrovic now a potential signing.

Who is Chelsea target Djordje Petrovic?
Petrovic came up in the ranks with Serbian side Cukaricki before becoming a first-team star following his debut back in 2018.
After shining in Serbia, Petrovic landed himself a big move away as he joined New England Revolution last summer.
The MLS side pounced to sign Petrovic as a replacement for Matt Turner following his move to Arsenal.
Petrovic has continued to excel in the United States with New England Revolution ace DeJuan Jones hailing him as ‘absolutely incredible’.

Unsurprisingly, Chelsea aren’t the only club interested in signing him.
The Mirror reported in March that Liverpool were considering a summer move for Petrovic.
Caoimhin Kelleher was expected to attract major interest with Liverpool viewing Petrovic as a potential replacement.
The Reds may still have Petrovic on their radar but interest in Kelleher hasn’t quite been as fierce as anticipated.
That means Liverpool are unlikely to make their move for Petrovic this summer and the door could be open for Chelsea to pounce.
