Chelsea are turning to Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi following Wesley Fofana’s injury – but he won’t be cheap.
Marc Guehi is being targeted for a return to Chelsea as Crystal Palace hold out for around £50million.
That is according to the London Evening Standard, who claim that Chelsea are looking to re-sign Guehi.
The Blues suffered a major blow this week with Wesley Fofana suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament injury, likely ruling him out for most of the season.
That leaves Chelsea key player down at the back and the Blues may now look to find another defender.
Guehi is on their wish list just two years since selling him to Palace for around £18million.
Chelsea didn’t include a buy-back clause as part of the deal to sell Guehi and now face paying a huge premium.
Palace are allegedly seeking around £50million for Guehi and the defender is looking to start regularly if he moves on.

The report adds that Guehi is a ‘long-term’ target for both Arsenal and Tottenham.
We can’t really see a move to Arsenal materialising this summer after they snapped up Jurrien Timber.
Timber adds another option who can play at centre back, just like William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Jakub Kiwior, Ben White and even Takehiro Tomiyasu if needed.
Splashing out on another centre back just wouldn’t really add up for Arsenal right now, even if they do like Guehi.
Tottenham are in a slightly different position as they desperately need another defender.
Micky van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba – two Bundesliga defenders – seem to be the top targets for Spurs this summer.
A homegrown option would be perfect though and Guehi has already impressed as a Premier League centre back.
Whether Spurs would pay £50million remains to be seen but it looks like Chelsea could move in to try and prevent any potential Tottenham move.
