Tottenham Hotspur have been given hope of a deal for Conor Gallagher with the Chelsea midfielder allegedly ready to leave.

Chelsea have made Conor Gallagher ‘surplus to requirements’ and are now offering him out to clubs.

That is according to the London Evening Standard, who claim that Gallagher is now ready to leave Chelsea.

It’s stated that Chelsea have made Gallagher surplus to requirements and are actively offering him to other clubs.

Gallagher allegedly accepts that the time is right to leave given that he has just two years left on his deal and hasn’t been offered new terms.

Chelsea aren’t exactly blessed with midfield numbers after offloading Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer.

The Blues would still cash in on Gallagher though, seemingly believing that now is the time to sell up.

Mauricio Pochettino is understood to ‘admire’ Gallagher but a Chelsea exit is now expected to take place anyway.

Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United for Conor Gallagher

The report adds that West Ham are now ‘ready to push ahead’ of Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Gallagher.

David Moyes is understood to be a huge fan of Gallagher and wanted to sign him last summer.

Thomas Tuchel blocked that move but West Ham are now back in for Gallagher once again.

West Ham have money to spend after selling Declan Rice and certainly need to add midfield quality after losing him to Arsenal.

Gallagher, hailed as ‘fantastic’ by former Chelsea boss Graham Potter, could be their man but Tottenham will put up a real fight.

The Guardian reported just a few days ago that Spurs have already held talks to try and sign Gallagher this summer.

Tottenham are looking for a box-to-box midfield player to go alongside Yves Bissouma and James Maddison in midfield.

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg’s expected move to Atletico Madrid would make room for Gallagher’s arrival and bring in vital funds.

Add in that Gallagher would add to Tottenham’s homegrown numbers and we can see Tottenham making a strong push to sign the 23-year-old now Chelsea are seemingly ready to sell.
