Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea are now expected to sign Everton forward Richarlison, not Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal or Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur, according to journalist Miguel Delaney in his Reading the Game newsletter in The Independent.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal all want to sign Richarlison from Premier League rivals Everton in the summer transfer window.

According to Delaney (12:05pm), Chelsea are expected to win the 25-year-old Brazil international forward, not Tottenham or Arsenal.

Earlier this month, Brazilian news outlet UOL reported that Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal all are interested in Richarlison.

Chelsea favourites for Tottenham and Arsenal target Richarlison

Delaney wrote in his Reading the Game newsletter in The Independent: “There have been similar sentiments at Arsenal, if not quite to the same degree.

“Mikel Arteta naturally wants progress on more of his targets, but the Kroenke family – like the Glazers – want all major decisions going through them.

“There is still a belief Gabriel Jesus will go to Arsenal from Manchester City, along with Porto’s Fabio Vieira, which should go through today. Any interest in Richarlson, which is shared by Spurs, is currently expected to be trumped by Chelsea.”

In our view, Chelsea are more appealing than Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur for Richarlison.

Chelsea regularly challenge for the Premier League title and compete in the Champions League.

Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku struggled last season, and head coach Thomas Tuchel could do with someone like Richarlison, who can play centrally or out wide.

Richarlison has scored 48 goals and created 32 big chances in 173 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The Brazilian forward is 25 now, and it is very likely that he will get better in the coming years.
