Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are reportedly trying to get offload Malang Sarr in the final days of the summer transfer window.

According to The London Evening Standard, Chelsea are “actively trying to sell” central defender Malang Sarr this week.

There has been speculation that Turkish giants Fenernbache are interested in the 24-year-old centre-back.

It also appeared over the weekend that Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino does not even know how Sarr is.

Chelsea could struggle to get rid of Malang Sarr permanently

We think that Chelsea could find it really hard to offload central defender Malang Sarr on a permanent basis this summer.

That Sarr is still at Chelsea heading into the final days of the summer transfer window shows that there is not much interest in the defender.

Yes, Fenerbahce have been linked, but the Turkish giants may not be willing to sign the defender on a permanent deal, especially if Chelsea ask for a lot of money.

Chelsea signed Sarr on a free transfer in the summer of 2020.

The defender has since failed to make an impact in England.

The 24-year-old has had loan spells at FC Porto and AS Monaco in recent seasons.

And he is earning £120,000 per week (Spotrac) at Chelsea.

How many clubs would be willing to pay a transfer fee and pay those kinds of wages for a 24-year-old who has been off his game for three years now?

Sarr is under contract at Chelsea until the summer of 2025.

Sarr has made eight appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The defender has kept two clean sheets in those games.
