N’Golo Kante looks set to sign a new contract to stay at Chelsea as strange links to both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur can be put to bed.
That’s according to The Guardian, who claim that Kante is close to agreeing terms on a new deal with the Blues.
Kante’s contract at Chelsea comes to an end this summer and it looked like he would be leaving on a free transfer amid links to both Arsenal and Tottenham.
Yet it now looks like Chelsea are nearing an agreement with Kante to keep him at Stamford Bridge for a little while longer yet.
The 31-year-old has been out since August with an injury but Chelsea believe that he can get right back to his best with this new deal.
A deal appears to be imminent and with Kante coming back from injury soon, it looked like we will see plenty more of the Frenchman in a Blues shirt.

N’Golo Kante to Arsenal or Tottenham ruled out
This news comes after Kante was linked with a rather surprising move across London.
Foot Mercato noted in October that Arsenal and Tottenham are both emerging as potential destinations for Kante.
Kante allegedly wanted to stay in London and both Arsenal and Spurs had some level of interest in signing the Frenchman.
However, Chelsea are pushing to keep hold of Kante and, in truth, moves to their London rivals never really added up.
Sure, Antonio Conte worked with Kante at Chelsea but Tottenham don’t really need another midfielder unless it’s an attack-minded one.
Committing big money in wages to an injury-prone player in his 30’s is something that Tottenham should be avoiding moving forward.
You can say the same for Arsenal too, who went down this kind of path with Willian in 2020 with terrible results.
Kante has been a quality player but Arsenal and Tottenham should be finding the new Kante rather than trying to sign the current iteration.
